Ho Hum
SEOUL, Feb 4 (AFP) - North Korea will turn US military bases in the region into a "sea of fire" if war breaks out on the Korean peninsula, state media on Friday quoted an air force officer as saying.
"There are no limitations in the striking power of our armed force. If US imperialists ignite flames of war, we will strike all their bases first and turn them into a sea of fire," officer Huh Ryong told North Korea's Central Radio monitored by South Korea's Yonhap news agency.
The officer also warned that North Korea would "thoroughly" wipe out those who collude with the United States, referring to its allies South Korea and Japan, which host US military bases.
Yeah. Right. And I thought Democrats were drama queens. Actually, this is the rhetoric you hear from the left all over the world. People who have no sense of shame can say pretty much anything they want without so much as a blush. I see this stuff every single day. Contrary to what the Democrats say, North Korea is not a greater threat than Iraq was or Iran is. This baloney is meant mainly for the ears of their own impoverished, starving population. Nothing like the threat of invasion by an army of rapists and baby eaters to keep them in line. Though North Korea has a standing army of 1.17 million, they are no more a match for us now than they were in the 1950s. And this time they don't have the Red Chinese to back them up. South Korea came out with a defense white paper today that said if war breaks out on the Korean peninsula, the United States will deploy 690,000 troops. Seoul's white paper says in case of all-out war, Washington would send in 40 percent of the Navy, 50 percent of the Air Force and 70 percent of the Marine Corps to augment about 30,000 troops already in South Korea. That's in addition to 640,000 South Korean troops. Kim Jong Mentally-Il knows he wouldn't have an egg shell's chance in a blender of winning a war against us. And his greatest fear is being overthrown and ousted from his life of luxury. He may have lost a million people to starvation, but he's never missed a meal. They are prisoners of their own twisted political system, their own xenophobia and an insane leader who's stuck back in 1952. I don't see them boiling over the border anytime soon.
