Anybody Seen A Good Popeye Cartoon Lately?

You would be hard-pressed to find a World War II-era Popeye cartoon on TV these days.  They have vanished.  Why?  Because they were RACIST.  Same goes for Warner Bros. cartoons.Yup, it seems that it is politically incorrect to beat up on the "Japs" who were brutalizing half the world and threatening our very existence.

And now, liberals want to save us from Huckleberry Finn.  Some liberal yahoo named Alan Gribben has rewritten The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to replace all the N words with "slave."  The ironic thing is that Gribben is regarded as one of the country's foremost Twain scholars.  You would think that a Twain scholar would understand the intentions of Mark Twain to accurately depict the attitudes of the Jim Crow Era of the late nineteenth century.  But nope. Huckleberry Finn was published in 1885, 20 years after slavery had been abolished.  So, why would Huckleberry call Jim a slave?  It appears that political correctness trumps common sense and rationality every time.

Erasing embarrassing history is what the Soviets used to do.

How can we know who we are unless we know who we were?  How can we gauge our progress as a nation, if our past has been erased by left-wing namby-pambies?  Once again, the left poisons everything it touches.

Popeye is a Conservatives Conservative. He says, "I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam."
