Mary Gone
Mary Travers, one-third of the hugely popular 1960s folk trio Peter, Paul and Mary, has died.
The band's publicist, Heather Lylis, says Travers died at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut on Wednesday. She was 72 and had battled leukemia for several years.
Oh wow! I hadn't heard this yet. I heard Henry Gibson (from Laugh in) died, but hadn't heard this.
This is truly sad news for me, in particular. As you know, I love all kinds of music, but I really loved Peter, Paul, and Mary. I had nearly all of their albums once.
Peter was a gifted song writer and poet. Paul could hold his own, as a comedian, next to the best. Mary supplied wonderful harmonies with her crystal clear voice.
Together, they were unsurpassed in the world of folk music.

It seems like every day, someone I remember fondly from my youth dies.
That's one of the consequences of growing old.
Jim O beat me to the punch.
Hey! What's this "growing old" stuff?
