Hey my husband and I learned a Viennese Polka for our wedding dance in 1999. We reanacted the scene from "KING and I" with Yul Brenner and Deborah Kerr..."Shall we dance..."

I didn't know it was a polka though until the dance instructor told us. It was so fun and great dance to do...so fun and upbeat.

Then for my dad's father daugher dance at our wedding, we did the "Beer Barrel Polka" by Lawrence Welk...my Dad's idea...he was a fun guy.

Both dances were a huge hit!

This brought back great memories. Thanks.

When I lived in Washington State (I was about 10 years old), everybody played the accordion, so I did to.

Polka King...that's me.

We used to dance to polkas at high-school dances. It was not unusual to see bodies sliding across the length of the gym floor. Can you imagine what would happen if someone played a polka at a school dance today? That's a shootin'.

LR, the contents of your head are getting increasingly...I dunno... unpredictable.. Is that the word I'm looking for?

What's in my head just documents the songs that pop into my head when I wake up or during the day that I can't seem to get out. It's those songs that just stay with you all day, no matter what you do.
