On the Road Pt. 3
If you spray a hot pig with cold water you'll kill it. That's one of many farm facts I picked up from my friend Lorence and his eldest daughter during a conversation Sunday evening. Seems pigs don't sweat (so much for the term "sweat like a pig") and spraying them with cold water will send them into shock. They have to wallow in mud (thus the term, "dirty as a pig").
I am in Green Bay, WI. I'm a few days ahead of schedule. Hopefully, my favorite hotel will take me a day early. I guess my car is faster than I thought it was. I've been averaging about 28 mpg at 65 mph. One of the reasons is probably that it's doing only 1500 rpm at 65, so I'm basically idling down the road.
Stayed in a MicroTel last night, which is my favorite chain motel. They still have reasonable rates.
I let Lorence drive my car Sunday, and of course, he had to stop dead on the highway and then accelerate to about 90. You can do that around here because even on the main roads, cars pass so seldom. I felt like I was being shot out of a cannon. I dread what my sister is going to do when I give her a turn. Maybe I can change the subject.
I spilled some Coke on my iphone yesterday when I accelerated and forgot to hold the drink in the useless cup holder. And now it's totally dead, so I am incommunicado until I get it looked at or get a new phone. And that's where I'm going now. After breakfast. And after I get some new jeans. They actually have places in Green Bay that sell clothes.
I'm off to greet the world, and get some free food in the lobby. Later, from a different location.

Green Bay is where my son, his wife, and my brand new grandbaby live :-) Nice town.
Don't waste the dead pig. Since it's already hot, go ahead and throw it on the smoker. BBQ pork all around!
