On the Road
I am in a Super 8 in Jamestown, ND. Been driving for 16 hours today, and 16 hours yesterday. It's only an hour to my friend's house, but I'm too pooped to proceed and there's a major thunderstorm raging outside. There's a Jacuzzi in my room, but I'm too tired to use it. Nothing has changed. It's still North Dakota.
Still zero cell service outside any major towns. Tomorrow morning I'm going to step off the face of the earth for a few days. No phone, no computers.
I'd forgotten how curious (nosy) the people are. I had dinner at Applebees and before my salad came, the woman who seated me had my life story.
But, it sure did me good to hear red-winged blackbirds again. My favorite song bird. And as soon as I got close, there were pheasants aplenty dashing across the road in front of me, along with a few gophers.
I got a slingbox last week. It's a little box that hooks up to my router and my cable dvr. With it, I can watch my own DVR and TV channels anywhere in the world. I checked it out as soon as I checked in and sure enough, I could see my own TV channels and my own recordings. If I wanted, I could set it to record something that I might miss otherwise. Amazing little toy.
Well, now I lay me down to sleep....It'll probably be awhile till I'm near a hotspot again, so don't wait up.

What?? No post on SCOTUS today?? I don't know if I can wait until you hit civilization again!
Oh, the pain...!
On SCOTUS. These weasel big city mayors are going to do everything they can to work their way around the gun ruling. They might have to permit people to have guns in their homes, but that won't prevent them from prosecuting them for murder if they ever actually have to defend themselves from a home invasion. Like I always say, expect the worst from liberals and you'll never be surprised.
