Suicide is painless, It brings on many changes,..

You'll probably hear this story bandied about the liberal media today. They will try to claim it is proof that Bush cares nothing about the troops.
WASHINGTON (AP) - Army soldiers committed suicide last year at the highest rate in 26 years, and more than a quarter did so while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a new military report.

The report, obtained by The Associated Press ahead of its scheduled release Thursday, found there were 99 confirmed suicides among active duty soldiers during 2006, up from 88 the previous year and the highest number since the 102 suicides in 1991 at the time of the Persian Gulf War.

The suicide rate for the Army has fluctuated over the past 26 years, from last year's high of 17.3 per 100,000 to a low of 9.1 per 100,000 in 2001.

Notice anything unusual about that story? It doesn't compare the "statistics" to ANY other sets. The World Health Organization says the suicide rate in this country is about 21.7 per 100,000. That's HIGHER than the Army rate, even if you figure the army statistics into the country's average. More evidence of media corruption. Intellectual honesty among journalists is rarer than pig feathers.

If you want to use statistics, Soldiers in Iraq are much safer than their peers at home-- who are being murdered and killed in traffic accidents at an alarming rate...

It brings on many changes,
And I can take or leave it as I please..."

You don't even have to include traffic accidents in the equation. Murder rates of Americans in all our major cities are higher than in Iraq.

Oops, I'll have to fix that title. I'm exposed. I hardly ever listen to the lyrics of songs.
