Catch 22

Well, here's a little conundrum (first time I've ever used that word in a sentence). conundrum: an intricate and difficult problem It seems that as gas prices get higher and people buy more fuel-efficient cars and drive less (not me), there is less tax money going into the federal fund that is used to build and maintain highways. Hmmm, what to do, what to do. Here's what my administration would do. Stop funding pork projects like the study of the mating habits of beavers or building monuments to former KKK Kleagle Robert Byrd and start using the money for common sense projects. I believe it is unconstitutional for the federal government to give a single dime to any private person or organization. If the practice were stopped, we could rid ourselves of huge bureaucracies that exist only to transfer money from one group of people to another. It used to be in this country that charitable organizations did that sort of work. Since the government has taken over the work of churches and other private organizations, it seems there is less and less money to be had and less getting done.

That won't happen. It makes too much sense.

I guess the idea of curtailing Government Spending a little bit never occurs to anybody...

In my personal life, when I overspend my income, I don't have the luxury of demanding more money from my employers with the threat of imprisonment, I have to balance out the spending.
