Sicker and Sicker

Our society is getting more and more psychotic. I just heard this news on local TV.
MIDDLE RIVER, Md. -- A 2-year-old boy was critically burned Saturday after someone broke into an elementary school, stole several bottles of industrial-strength drain cleaner and splashed it all over the school's playground equipment, authorities said. The boy was burned mostly on his legs by the cleaner, which contains a strong concentration of sulfuric acid, said Division Chief Michael Robinson of the Baltimore County Fire Department. No one else was injured.
Wow, thought I, whoever did this must be uniquely sick. And then I did some research and found this story from Leander, Texas:
Police in Leander will continue their investigation into who put muriatic acid on a playground. Thursday night, that acid burned a 2-year-old girl going down a slide. It happened at the Westwood Park community pool, near Sunny Brook and Grassland drives. At around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, the father of the toddler noticed his child had a burn on her leg after going down the slide. He called EMS, and after they arrived, they discovered it was more than just the slide that had muriatic acid on it. Twenty to 30 different areas around the park were contaminated.
I think the bad guys are gaining the upper hand.

Over the last 2-3 years, we have had a rash of incidents up here, where razor blades have been embedded in 2x4's and placed under the sand, glass has been glued to monkey-bars...all kinds of sick stuff.
Makes you understand why people rush out to Costco and spend $600 on playground equipment for the backyard.

You are right WW. Many around here in CA have suggested getting rid of playground equipment because cities, etc. don't want the liability.

I saw pictures of that little boy and the suffering he must be going through makes me ill.

I don't understand why anyone would want to do something as mindlessly evil as this. They deserve the same injury exacted upon them. . x 10.
