I've been a bit lax in posting for the past three days -- or four. But, I've been busy with post Christmas stuff. On my way home from work Tuesday, I swung by Ft. Meyer to check out their sales. I got a $159 tree for just $39. It's seven feet tall and has 800 colored LED lights already on it. So, when I took down my old tree, it went down the trash chute. Now, I have something to look forward to next year. I also made a tasty pot of northern bean soup using a ham bone I snagged from the buffet table here at work. My coworkers all say they would be delighted if I made my buffalo wings for New Year's eve, so I guess I'm stuck with that. They were even willing to buy the chicken. I refuse to cook anything for MLK day. I got a $25 gift card for Cracker Barrel for Christmas, so I used it Thursday. I've been saving change in a glass vase since the metal detectors went up after 9/11, so I poured it all into one of those coin machines. It came to $286. I guess I'm eating steak for the next few days. I found out that about 10 apartments in my building are being upgraded. They'll be having an open house in a few weeks. So, if I like them, I might be moving. I've been in my apartment for over 10 years. That's the longest I've stayed in one place my entire life. It's 6 am. Breakfast time. Bean soup.
