BAGHDAD, Nov 5, 2006 (AFP) - The court trying Saddam Hussein for crimes against humanity began the session Sunday at which it is expected to pronounce judgement on the ousted Iraqi leader. Judge Rauf Rashid Abdel Rahman called the first of eight co-defendants, Baath party official Mohammed Azawi Ali, into the Iraqi High Tribunal and the hearing began. Saddam was not initially present.Mohammad Assawi Ali -- Innocent for lack of evidence. That was at the request of the prosecution. He was a lower-level Baath Party official and did not face a death sentence.
