I Spy

It seems the Canadians have caught themselves some terrorists. The RCMP says more arrests are likely in a plot to bomb buildings in Canada, while intelligence officers look for ties between the 17 suspects and Islamic terror cells in the United States and five other nations.

A court has charged all 12 adults arrested over the weekend with participating in a terrorist group. Other charges included importing weapons and planning a bombing. They haven't revealed the charges against five minors.

Investigators are looking for connections between those detained in Canada and Islamic terrorists held in the United States, Britain, Bangladesh, Bosnia, Denmark and Sweden.

Two of the suspects are from the state of Georgia.

These aren't immigrants. These are the sons of immigrants -- Muslims who were born in Canada and the United States. They aren't poor, they aren't unemployed, they aren't disenfranchised (whatever that buzzword means), they are just a bunch of radicalized young punks. They were caught by Canadian intelligence agents who monitored Internet chat rooms.

How can anyone in his right mind still dispute that domestic spying is not only effective, but absolutely necessary?
