I commented on the Duke lacrosse rape case once before, but it really didn't interest me much. Prosecutor Mike Nifong is running for reelection and gave 70 interviews about this case before the Democratic primary -- not something a DA should do. Now that he has won the primary and his case is falling apart, he's clammed up -- something a DA should do. But since he was so talkative before, his silence now looks bad. It looks so bad, in fact, that the Republicans have now put up their own candidate to run against the unopposed Nifong. Uh oh. If there's one thing a DSR (Democrat seeking reelection) hates, it's competition. If it were up to the DNC, this would be a one-party system -- their party. Hey, it works in North Korea and China. Now, it's getting interesting.
