An Unanswered E-Mail

My comments are shut tighter than a duck's butt. But when I post on other blogs, I have to leave an e-mail address, loneranger85@hotmail.com. As expected, most of the e-mail I get is just as hateful, mean-spirited, stupid and downright demonic as the messages I used to get when my comments were open. For some reason, I tend to annoy liberals. Maybe it's the way I phrase things. And liberals can't play nice with others, but I'm more picky. My mom always told me to stay away from the bad kids. So I just flip their messages into the junk mail. But I received a message last week that I was prepared to answer. It started, "Hi there friend from across the seas, first of all, I would like to say that I share your views on the Republicans." OK, that's definitely a keeper. At first glance, you might wonder why someone half a world a way is concerned about American politics, but since our government has chosen to ignore George Washington's warning about the perils of foreign entanglement, we pretty much have a finger in everybody's pie. Our business is everybody's business. This person went on to say he is a Muslim living in Singapore. I visit so many hundreds of blogs that I can't remember his blog or what I said on what topic. But I guess it was interesting enough for him to reply. He continued: I might not be an American, but I might share some of your views and values. I am Muslim but I do not agree with the Al-Qaeda and Saddam's tyranny. Every individual has free will and evil lies in the heart of evil men, should we all pay for their misdeeds? Just a thought. I was prepared to respond in length. It is obvious that this is a clear-thinking intelligent person (not just because he agreed with me), but then I thought, what would be the point? First of all, this person is a Muslim. Islam means submission. It is not a religion of tolerance. It is not a religion of peace. It is not a religion of new ideas. Dissent has consequences, up to and including death. Any point I could make would of necessity have to be rejected. No matter how reasonable the two parties might be, there can be no reasoning with a Muslim. By Sharia (Islamic law), they cannot change their mind or embrace other cultures and religions. Ask Salman Rushdie and other dissidents who spend every day fearing for their life. The second thing that occurred to me is this man lives in Singapore. He does not know what it is like to live in a Muslim country. In Muslim countries, every individual does NOT have free will. In fact, it is free will that is considered evil. Should Islam ever become the predominant religion in Singapore, that country will march straight into the 7th century. Muslims will impose their religion and culture on the country until all other religions and cultures are slowly crushed. If it takes violence, then violence will ensue. Instead of one of the shining jewels of Asia, Singapore will become just like every other Muslim country in the world -- brutal, corrupt, xenophobic and poverty-stricken. No, I think this is an e-mail I won't be answering.
