Too Little, Too Late

The Voice of America is reporting that:

British officials have outlined proposed counter-terrorism laws aimed at making it easier to convict suspects planning attacks. The sweeping legislation targets anyone found to be providing terrorists with financing, supplies or safe houses. A proposed law would also bring charges of indirect incitement of terrorism to anyone found to be glorifying terrorist activity. The legislation aims to stop extremists from preaching hate or promoting terrorism. Lawmakers will also be asked to consider making it illegal to train or teach at an overseas terrorist camp, or to use the Internet to get information on how to build a bomb. Critics say some of the proposed anti-terrorism laws would be difficult to prosecute, and could trample civil liberties.
First of all, Britain has allowed unrestricted immigration of Muslims for decades. Radicals have been allowed to preach their hatred in mosques without restriction. Any suggestion that these people should assimilate and adopt some British customs as their own have been met with screams of derision from the multi-cultural left. There are pockets of Islamic radicalism all over the place that will be nearly impossible to root out without the use of draconian methods. It will take decades to clean the radical cancer out of the country and I don't think the British have the stomach for it. Why not? Because "critics" are already saying the proposed laws would be difficult to prosecute and could trample civil liberties. Civil liberties? This, in a country where police can pull over drivers who don't have their arms bent enough. You can get a ticket for not having the proper amount of windshield washer. There is a plan in the works to use global satellite positioning technology to control the speed of cars so no one can speed. This, in a country where the Official Secrets Act forces government employees into a lifetime duty of confidentiality, preventing the writing of articles and books and effectively shutting down whistle blowers. This, in a country where people are sent to prison for putting up ANY resistance to home invasions. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Brits are lost souls.
