This Will Not Be Pretty

OK, I admit to being a bit of a geek. Stargate SG-1 is one of my favorite TV shows. Having defeated their two enemies -- the Goa'uld and the Replicators -- last season, they have now found a new threat to the universe. (Hmmm, seeing it in print, maybe I'm more than just a BIT of a geek) It seems that they have discovered a species that lives on a higher plane. The only mission of these beings is to spread their religion throughout the universe. And worlds that don't accept their beliefs are to be totally destroyed. They do this by creating missionaries -- zombie-like creatures with no will of their own -- who are perfectly willing to immolate themselves if caught in a tight spot. Sound familiar? Sheesh, I can't believe it. I wonder how long it will be till the Muslim drama queens at CAIR(Council on American-Islamic Relations) catch on and issue a fatwa against Stargate SG-1. CAIR is as big a misnomer as People for the American Way or the American Civil Liberties Union. Amazing how groups who want to destroy our way of life have a way of taking names that make them sound so noble and benign. But that's another post. And how long will the people at Stargate have the guts to carry out this storyline? I have a feeling CAIR is already making a list of where the cast and crew live and work and are checking it twice. Remember, Canada is a refuge for nutty Muslims. Their immigration program is like Courtney Love's sexual history -- anybody who comes knocking.... Let the death threats commence. Producing the show in Canada presents another problem. The liberals up there have the power lefties in this country only wish they had. You can actually be sent to prison for nine years for watching unauthorized satellite TV shows. It took Fox News years to break into that market. I'm guessing the government has the right to censor or shut down any productions they think are disrespectful to a religion or a race. This won't be pretty.
