Now We're Worth our Weight in Gold

The UN weasel who once called us stingy has now backpedaled. Here's something from the New York Times:

With $2 Billion Donated, U.N. Now Needs Help to Deliver AidBy WARREN HOGE Published: January 2, 2005 UNITED NATIONS, Jan. 1 - Jan Egeland, the United Nations' emergency relief coordinator, said Saturday that the commitment of relief money from more than 40 nations had reached $2 billion, but he said that the scale of the response was overwhelming the capacity to deliver aid. "The compassion has never ever been like this," he said, but then added, "The military and civil defense assets that many countries are providing us are as valuable as cash or gold would be today because it makes us move with the assistance and it makes us get there in the race against the clock."
He pretty much repeated his remarks on Fox News, but singled out US helicopters as worth their weight in gold. I wonder if this will be trumpeted on the liberal blogs as much as were his comments about Western nations being stingy. Probably not. Liberal blogs are like tiny Stalinist regimes, where the bloggers are like little jackbooted commissars, or Joseph Goebbels, or Baghdad Bobs. No matter how foolish it might make them look, they tightly control any information that might be positive for our President. I come across liberal blogs all the time where the logic and "facts" are so screwed up, I don't know where to begin to correct them. So I don't. Not worth the effort.
