My Brush with the Law

So, today I was running around, trying to find a radio for my car and stopped to have lunch at a Mexican restaurant I frequent -- Don something-or-other. In the middle of my meal a guy in a DC Metro windbreaker walks up to me and flashes a badge. "What agency are you with?" he asks. I had to ask him to repeat it twice because of his heavy "black accent" (fodder for another post). I told him, "I'm not with any agency." He pondered for a second and said, "Oh, yeah, this is Virginia." I then explained to him that in Virginia, people must wear their guns in plain view in a place that serves alcohol. He didn't know that. Being a member of the DC Police, I can understand that. He then walked out. I'm guessing that since he wasn't eating there, someone must have called the police. I could have showed him my concealed carry permit, but since I wasn't carrying concealed, I wasn't required to. And I wanted to ask him why DC cops were answering calls in Virginia, but I believe in keeping my contact with the authorities to a bare minimum. Less chance of being tazed, Bro. Isn't it odd that the very people who prattle on about the U.S. becoming a police state, want only the police to have guns? Inconsistencies like that are a sign of a shallow mind.
