All About Me

I was putting away my coats for the summer and realized that I have completed my jacket collection -- and I didn't even know I was collecting jackets. Just want to be fashionable for the coming global freeze. I left my Chinese Dissident jacket for the occasional cool summer day. I call it that because I picked it up for only $8 at the PX. Only a jacket made with slave labor could cost so little.

My favorite is a Colonial Warriors jacket from the original Battlestar Galactica. That one cost me dearly. I had to trade a brick from the Atlanta theater where Gone with the Wind Premiered in 1939. I can't remember what I bartered for the brick.

I think I have 15 coats altogether, including my old Air Force parka, which I will wear on the day Al Gore freezes to death.

In other snooze, I spent myself into a hole this month. I usually get a $3500 refund from federal and state taxes, so I bought depending on that. But, this year, I had to pay $3400. Fortunately, I just had a payday, so I'll be able to pay my rent. Then, I begin to rebuild my fortune.
I bought the newest TiVo, which searches not only my cable channels, but Netflix and the entire Internet to find what I'm looking for. I can also program it to record a show from anywhere that I can get access to the Internet -- even with my iPhone and iPad.

Oh yeah, I bought an iPad2 also. I'm really glad I waited for the second version. This thing is amazing. It has a better navigation system than the one I have in my car. Just one App, called the Civil War, tracks the war day by day, with maps, photos, newspaper articles, official documents and letters and diaries written in the original hand, from Lincoln to soldiers in the field and their wives and girlfriends. That should keep me busy for the next four years.

I'm taking a two-week staycation beginning Monday, because I can't afford to go anywhere. But, it's the first break I've taken in three years, and I need it. I usually give my excess vacation to people who need it because of an illness. Too bad that's not tax deductible.

I've added a few more items to my list of talking points.

And, you already know I did my laundry for this quarter. I accumulated enough dryer lint to weave a three-piece suit -- with two pair of pants. Do not, NOT waste your money on Purex Complete 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets. Supposedly, you can just drop them in the washer and they will serve as a detergent, softener and anti-static in the dryer. They don't clean well at all. That's why it took six hours to do my laundry. I had to do a couple of loads twice.

And WHY is blogger not showing any paragraph breaks?

I had a period of time when Blogger refused to show paragraph breaks, too.

I had to insert paragraph doo-dads into my HTML code to get it to work.

Then it started showing them again, for no reason.
