The Lowdown on Joe Sestak

Joe Sestak has a secret. And like a coy, little schoolgirl, he's just admitting a portion of it. The democrat Congressman says someone in the Obama administration offered him a job to throw the match against Benedict Arlen Specter. I'm guessing that information helped him to win the democrat nomination for the Senate. Of course, he won't say who made the offer or what the job was. Offering a bribe to influence the outcome of an election is a crime. If it was just a patronage job offered by consigliere, Rahm Emmanuel, then Obama can just fire Deadfish and throw him under the bus, as he had so many others. But, if it was a cabinet position -- Secretary of the Navy is rumored -- it would have had to be approved by Obama and that is an impeachable offense. Once again, we can't depend on Swamp Witch Nancy to drain the swamp and order hearings, so we will have to wait for Republicans to win the Congress to begin such an investigation. Sestak is playing it cook and pretending that his honor prevents him from revealing the other side of the deal. And, since he is a retired three-star Vice Admiral, who could possible question his honor? I can. It seems that Sestak retired under a cloud. When current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Admiral Mike Mullen took over as Chief of Naval Operations in July of 2005, it took him less than 24 hours to relieve Sestak of command as deputy chief of naval operations for Warfare Requirements and Programs. A third star came with the position, but he was in that office for such a short time that he retired as a two-star. Sestak was regarded as an arrogant and obnoxious bully-boy, who delighted in being rude and unreasonable and getting away with it. Sestak was blamed for a “poor command climate,” which is a navy euphemism for poor leadership that results in low morale among sailors and officers. If everyone is upset, angry and there is a general lack of camaraderie, that "poor command climate." That is a career killer. The military does an excellent job of weeding out the incompetent, but sometimes the scum rises to the surface. So, I know about this, how long will it take the media to catch on?

If his "honor" prevents him from revealing the other side of the deal, why didn't his "honor" prevent him from revealing the first side of the deal?

He doesn't sound very honorable to me.

The New York Slimes reports, The White House appeared to confirm Sunday that the Obama administration had some kind of conversations with Representative Joe Sestak..., but asserted that the conversations were not inappropriate.

Robert Gibbs, the White House spokesman, appearing on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” said Sunday that “nothing inappropriate happened.”

Bob Schieffer, the host, pressed Mr. Gibbs about whether the White House had actually offered Mr. Sestak a job to clear the field for Mr. Specter.

“I’m not going to get into it,” Mr. Gibbs said, “but people who have looked into it assure me the conversations were not inappropriate in any way.”

Oh, Gibbs has been assured. That surely makes me feel better.

Everybody knew exactly what Hussein Obama was and what his regime would look like, so why the wonderment now?

if they had, he wouldn't have been elected. Currently, about one out of five democrats who supported him, now oppose him.
