"Listen," said Dan Rather, "he's a nice person, he's very articulate," this is what's been used against him, "but he couldn't sell watermelons if it, you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic."
OK, we get it. Obama is articulate. Or, as Joe Biden once said, ""I mean, you got the first mainstream African American [Barack Obama] who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice looking guy."
Can you imagine the lynching that would take place of someone at Fox News had uttered either of these stupid remarks? But, as always, liberals get a pass. They aren't racists, they just misspeak.

I like watermelons.
I've said it for years: The word, "articulate" is a word used by racist whites to describe well educated black people, but in describing some blacks as articulate, it is implied all the rest of the blacks are stupid.
Amazing. And the Libs still don't get it.
They will deny the hypocracy of it all. That won't deminish it, though.
I don't believe Rather is racist. He's just being Rather. But there is a serious double standard in the media. O'Reilly would never have survived the controversy. In Rather's case, controversy? What controversy?
Actually , they're correct. Inarticulation is way more common and generally occurs to a greater degree, among blacks than whites...
Have you ever seen COPS in West Virginia? Between the accent and the missing teeth, the whites have to have subtitles.
Lone Ranger, you seem to know a lot about liberals. I was wandering if you know anything about conservatives, if you do, please explain why is it at all of the CPAC conventions and the Tea Party rallies; all I see is a sea of white people.
Easy. FIRST liberals demonize conservatives to blacks. THEN they criticize conservatives for not being inclusive. It's like stabbing someone in the back and then blaming him for the blood on the carpet.
Any black who flees the liberal plantation is excoriated.
Democrats have blacks in chains of ideology just as they used to keep them in chains of iron.
It is crazy for sure ... he convinced me to switch out of the Dem party. I went out of my way to get my voter registration changed as soon as I heard his first campaign speech when he said he was going to help all the home owners and their families -- except the 'stupid ones.' They are the ones who over extended themselves and deserve what they get.
Wolf in sheep's clothing. He is evil hiding in the bushes.
