I, I, I, I, I

Oh, somewhere in this favored land the sun is shining bright;
The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light,
And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout;
But there is no joy in Chicago — mighty Obama has struck out.
Here are some excerpts from Obama's speech to the Olympic Committee that might, MIGHT, explain why they rejected Chicago on the first vote.
I know you face a difficult choice among several great cities and nations with impressive bids of their own. So I’ve come here today to urge you to choose Chicago for the same reasons I chose Chicago nearly twenty-five years ago – the reasons I fell in love with the city I still call home. And it’s not only because it’s where I met the woman you just heard from – though after getting to know her this week, I’m sure you’d all agree that she’s a pretty big selling point. You see, growing up, my family moved around a lot. And I never really had roots in any one place or culture or ethnic group. Then I came to Chicago. And on those Chicago streets, I worked alongside men and women who were black and white; Latino and Asian; people of every class and nationality and religion. I came to discover that Chicago is that most American of American cities, but one where citizens from more than 130 nations inhabit a rich tapestry of distinctive neighborhoods. We stand at a moment in history when the fate of each nation is inextricably linked to the fate of all nations – a time of common challenges that require a common effort. And I ran for President because I believed deeply that at this defining moment, the United States of America has a responsibility to help lead that effort, and to forge new partnerships with the nations and peoples of the world. Nearly one year ago, on a clear November night, people from every corner of the world gathered in the city of Chicago or in front of their televisions to watch the results of the U.S. Presidential election. Their interest wasn’t about me as an individual. Rather, it was rooted in the belief that America’s experiment in democracy still speaks to a set of universal aspirations and ideals.
Trust me. When Obama says it isn't about him, it's ALL about him. And Michelle was even worse.

“Some of my best memories are sitting on my dad’s lap, cheering on Olga and Nadia, Carl Lewis, and others for their brilliance and perfection.”

Mrs. Obama was 20 years old when Lewis first competed in the Olympics in 1984. What was going on in THAT relationship?

It was all about the Obamas.

I know why the Olympic committee rejected Obama's request to make Chicago a site for the Olympic games.

They don't like him.

I truly believe that their rejection of Chicago was meant as a sign of disrespect toward our so-called president. I believe they see him as the antithesis of the Olympic ideal. They look at Obama and see a weak leader who seeks to level the playing field instead of glorifying those who strive for the highest levels of achievement.

He represents the mundane. They don't want mundane. They want champions.

Good Golly, can't you people cut our president a break??!! Must you criticize EVERYTHING he does just because he's a colored boy?
Just because your insane hatred of him for being an unpatriotic-traitor-marxist- apologist naarcistic asshole is not reason to color your thinking about everything he does as being evil or stupid...

Obamaaaa is entitled to lobby for his buddies in Chicago without you people portraying him as the third incarnation of theBeaqst, even if he is hastening the collapse of White Man's civilization on this planet...

That is SO funny! And typical of the lies that just keep bubbling forth from POTUS' and FLOTUS' mouths.

They just can't help themselves.
