Important Stuff -- Or Not: Update

Update

Here I sit with a big, black (my choice of color) cast on my right leg from my toes to my knee. The doctor walked in this morning and said, "This is not good. " That is not good. He said my tibia had broken in the back at an angle / . Normally, it wouldn't be a big deal, but since five months have gone by, the break has calcified. SO, I have to wear a cast that will have to be changed once a week for six weeks. If that doesn't work, I'll have to have surgery. He called it a "major surgery," in which he would have to put in a couple of screws to hold the bone together. If that happens, I will be setting off metal detectors for the rest of my life. Has anyone tried to use crutches? It isn't as easy as it looks. After six weeks, I might have to undergo reconstructive armpit surgery. It's a good thing I accomplished so much in my apartment, because I'm going to have to stay flat on my back during my off-time. Cats have a new scratching post, though. Oh, and I had to take a scissors to a new pair of jeans just so I could take off my pants. Just THAT has become a 10-minute exercise in frustration. I wonder if I can hire someone from Craig's List to help me out with that.

Mark said...: My wife is recovering from total knee replacement surgery. She had it on March 10th, her birthday.

Her Dr. is Dr. Richard Worland, one of the top orthopedic surgeons in the country. He invented the steel and titanium fake Knee joint that he installed in my wife's leg. He has been lately testifying in a civil suit all the way out in California.

Just last week, the doctor gave her permission to stop using a walker. Now, she's on a cane, although she really doesn't need that, either.

Lone Ranger said...: My functioning has been limited, as you'd see if you walked into my apartment. I managed to clear up most of the clutter, at the expense of a day's sick leave, but the dirt is there. I might have to call in a maid service to do the appliances, bathroom, etc.; 6:22 PM

I don't use talking points, I create them.

25 Immutable Truths About Liberals

Over the years I've been writing this blog, I've been throwing out little self-evident truths that seem to have no exceptions that prove the rule. I've made a list of some of them and will add to it as I remember them or make up more. Most of this list I've come up with myself. A few I've borrowed from others.

1. Always expect the worst from a liberal and you will never be surprised.

2. Never try to reason with a liberal. They disregard any evidence that conflicts with their beliefs.

3. You can always tell what liberals are up to by what they accuse conservatives of doing.

4. Liberals don't debate, they argue.

5. The only standards liberals have are double standards.

6. Liberals feel, conservatives think.

7. Whenever you don't understand a liberal's motives, just look for the money.

8. Liberals cannot be embarrassed. They lack the gene to blush.

9. The Liberal Golden Rule is, "Do unto others but scream bloody murder if they do unto you."

10. Liberals don't have leaders, they have demi-gods.

11. There are no honest liberals. If they were honest -- especially to themselves -- they would be conservatives.

12. A liberal's business is nobody's business, but everyone's business is a liberal's business.

13. Liberals have an inflated sense of self-worth. They are like house flies that criticize the air-worthiness of a Stealth fighter. (Sarah Palin, George W. Bush, ad infinitum are morons.)

14. Liberals lack a sixth sense that conservatives have in abundance -- common sense.
