That reminds me of when I lived in Japan. When the government ran the railroads, I used to see two-man shovels. One guy would hold the shovel and jam it into the dirt. A second guy behind him would pull on a rope attached to the handle. When they privatized the railroads, the two-man shovels went into storage. Maybe you can still find one on e-bay.
This gives me an idea. Since Obama's stimulus plan is supposed to create government jobs, and I could use a better one than I have, I think I'll apply for a job with the highway department. I can't imagine an easier job. Whenever I drive by a road crew, I always see 8-10 guys standing around and one guy working. I could get used to work like that!

Uh...as long as I'm not the guy working.
There are certainly plenty of government jobs out there. And once you get your foot in THAT door, you are set for life.
