Long Lost Parent!
A year ago! I was looking for my husband's birth mother. She sent a letter to him back in 1993 when he was 26 years old but my mother in law (adoptive mom) never gave it to my husband. Last year (15 years later) she let me see the letter but not keep it and told me not to tell my husband.
So on my own...I remembered her name and searched www.zabasearch.com and sent letters to all the addresses listed. But it was too late she had already moved.
Then at my law firm I searched on LexisNexis with just her name last week and one new address appeared!! I FOUND HER! I wrote her again and 5 days later or more precisely THIS MORNING she emailed my husband!!! That is was HER!!
and she sent pictures...most amazing thing is that she has my son Nicolas' same color of blue eyes and we always wanted to know where they came from since no one has blue eyes on my side of the family and my husband has hazel. Made me cry to see those same shade of blue eyes staring back at me in her photo.
Best part is she now lives in Ireland (and owns a pub)...I am feeling a Irish vacation coming on...

I had an aunt who was separated from her twin sister at birth, and about 60 years later they were re-united.
My aunt lived in Frezno, California at the time, and her sister lived coincidentally in my hometown, Wichita, KS.
My aunt didn't need to get a motel room to meet her.
Congrats to you and hubby!
So, now how is it going to be with your mother-in-law? =:o
We are not telling my mother in law. No point in deflecting interference right now as my husband and the birth mom start their relationship.
Even so, my husband still defends what my mother in law...and I still don't get it.
Mark - is something about your aunt's twin being in your hometown. I guess some things are meant to be.
I heard a long time ago they separated twins on purpose in order to study a generation of the them to find out if nature v. nturue is really a big factor...never of course realizing there was a "bond" with twins unknown to other suiblings.
Because why would anyone separate twins?
