If, as some psychologists believe, many mental illnesses begin with a set of learned behaviors that ultimately result in a change in neural paths, then it is entirely possible.
If, as others contend, mental illness results from some biological deviation first, then it is unlikely.
I suspect the truth is a little of both.
At the least, liberals are equalists for everybody except themselves. They rerely apply their radical ideas to themselves.
