Rambling
I have been playing around with my iPhone. There are some amazing applications in the apps store. I downloaded two for free. One is called Car Spotter. I does just what it says. When I leave my car, I punch a button and it marks the location. Then, when I want to find the car, I punch the button again and it marks my location and then draws a map to my car. Another is called Aroundme. Punch a button and it comes up with a list of categories including banks, coffee shops, gas stations, hospitals, hotels, etc. etc. Select one of those and it shows every one in a radius of a mile. Again, it will draw a map to the location.
I found a new product called Batter Blaster. It is pancake batter in a can -- like whipped cream. Just shake and spray into a pan or waffle iron. Amazing. Now, if it only tasted as good as my pancakes.
For the very first time, I was escorted out of a store because I was wearing a gun. I was in Best Buy Wednesday to get some computer speakers and the next thing I knew, two Alexandria cops were standing there and told me the manager wanted me to leave. Seems there had been some robberies in the area. All the more reason to wear a gun. No arguement from me. I went to Circuit City and got exactly what I needed for less money. Bye bye Best Buy. When I got home I dashed off an e-mail to Best Buy asking them if they really want to refuse business to 160,000 people in Virginia who have gun permits. I'll wait a few days for their response and then enter that store on an Internet list of businesses that are hostile to gun owners. I'll also report them to the VCDL, who will contact them and inform them of the foolishness of their ways. The cops were nice, though. I wonder how they'd react if I walked around with my Lone Ranger rig.
I did not watch the last presidential debate. First of all, I was so sleepy, I barely kept my eyes open through O'Reilly. Second, who cares? Those who are undecided at this point, won't show up to vote anyway. And I think McCain has it unless Obama is pushed over the top by a landslide of Disney characters.
I figure there are three groups of Democrats who won't vote for Obama. The racist Democrats who still cling to their party's segregationist past and will never vote for a black man. The women who resent how the men of their party kicked Hillary to the curb. And the thinking Democrats (yes, there are still a few) who would never trust this weinie with our economy and security. On election night, I plan to unload my gun, go to bed early and wake up the next morning to learn our fate. Maybe I'll pawn the gun for awhile.

Let me know when you don your Lone Ranger rig.
When I was a kid, the Lone Ranger and Tonto made a personal appearance in the Orange Bowl in Miami & I got to go see him.
He has always been one of my heros.
As, of course, are you.
So, you are saying the polls are wrong?--they are all pointing at an easy win for Obama at this point, and a landslide in the congress...
Yup. Some stupid poll came out the other day that said 85% of people would NEVER lie to pollsters. Well, what if they were lying??
I carry concealed myself and I'm very careful, as are most, not to let the gun show. I know you've posted about being careful about this in the past. So, my question is...how did the store manager know you were carrying?
Also, you said the cops were nice but I'm curious how they handled the situation. Would you share the details?
Ann Coulter points out that polls have been several points off in favor of the Democrats since 1976.
I have to admit, I've been preparing to get used to life under a Marxist regime lately. I watched the debate and I thought McCain came off sounding whiny and defensive, but most of my blogger buddies disagree. Shows what I know, I guess.
Oh well, Ann gives me new hope.
My attitude is a gun is just as legal as a cell phone. People just need to get over it. I carry openly on hot days and during hours of darkness. We also have a stupid law here in VA that you must carry openly if you are in a place that serves alcohol, which is just about any restaurant other than fast food places. On Wednesday, it was 80 degrees. I guess I could have pulled my shirt over it, but that's just ridiculous, because then I have a huge, gun-shaped lump on my hip. And I never wear my shirt outside my pants anyway.
You are so cool LR!
Right after I clicked the 'publish' button I thought to myself that you were probably OC. Thanks for clearing it up.
