On the Road Pt. 6

Springfield, IL, whatever day it is. It was just an eight-hour drive from Kewaunee to Springfield. So, I got in Saturday afternoon and have spent a pleasant three days. I planned to leave this morning, but extended my visit a day. I went to a store called Big R today and got some new boots. They aren't the Wellingtons I was looking for, but are flashy enough to pass. This is another one of those stores that don't exist where I live. Good thing I'm driving a small car, or I would have bought the place out. Laura Ingraham's show was not on Fox News today. I checked the schedule and it isn't there, nor is her bio. Could it have been canceled that fast? What's going on with her? I'll be leaving early in the morning and plan to make the 15-hour drive in one day. Since I stayed here a day longer, I'll have to make up the time. Then, I pick up the cats Wednesday and will have a day to rest up from my vacation. The corn here is about three times the height of the corn in North Dakota because ND has had such a COOL spring and summer. So much, once again, for global warming -- or climate change -- as the self-appointed climate experts now call it. Of course, the climate has been changing all my life. When it stays the same is when I'll worry. I'm staying at a MicroTel, which has cable modem, so my Slingbox is working again. So, instead of local TV, I've been watching my TV at home. I'm spoiled. Hopefully, my next post will be from home. Later.
