AHHHHH! PIGEONS!!!!
So, I bought one of those grills that fits over two burners of the stove and can be flipped to a grill on one side and a griddle on the other. I thought a great way to break it in would be to grill some squab -- one of my favorite treats. Then, I learned something today that I wish I hadn't. Apparently, squab is just another name for pigeon! I thought squabs were little prairie hens or something. Pigeons! ANOTHER name for pigeons is "feathered rats." SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!!
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
Well, in for a dime, in for a dollar. I wonder how else I can expand my gastronomical horizons. (Don't click on this if you have just had, are about to have, or ever plan to have a meal ever again).

I don't think I would want to recover from pregnancy that bad...I thought only people on goulags had to to resort to rat stir fry.
Just a thought but does frying for 15 minutes or til well done take the rabies out of the meat...like salmonella out of chicken?
I took you at your word and didn't watch the video. :)
Look at the squab this way, you've already eaten it before, you've determined you like it. Just eat it. Commercial squab is not your city's pigeon. ;)
Rats don't carry rabies. I did the research several years ago, when there was a rat loose in the newsroom. DC has some BIG rats. Lots and lots and lots of big rats. One of them had a couple of seizures over the weekend.
Actually, in my travels, I've eaten some pretty strange things, like rattlesnake, bat and a stew made from pig blood. I tend to draw the line, not on the species, but on the intelligence of the species. For instance, I won't eat dog, cat, dolphin, killer whale or liberals. Liberals aren't that intelligent, but they're very bitter.
That's because the diet of Liberals consists mainly of "eating the rich". (The only endangered species that Liberals have no interest in saving.)
The bitterness comes from biting the hand that feeds them.
Give me a minute, and maybe I'll think of another cliche'...
