Rambling
It's Sunday morning, and because of daylight savings time, I work only nine hours. Getting off in about 30 minutes. I hope I come home to an apartment that has electricity. Because of high winds, half our building lost power at about 3 pm yesterday. Guess which half I live in. And guess which half the boiler is in. Yup. No shower before work last night. Luckily, my alarm clock has a battery backup. That came in handy when I had Chito, because one of his daily chores was to unplug it.
I see a lot of stories in this business that leave me shaken, but I came across something last night that literally sickened me. I looked at the first picture and couldn't continue. And I refuse to write it. Warning! If you click on this, prepare to be disgusted.
I simply can't understand how a brutal dictatorship like China is allowed to host the Olympics.

I don't know why I was stunned when I read the article. I should not be surprised... they torture their people... of course they would torture their pets....
Yet one more reason we should not be going to the Olympics or doing business with them...
I was stunned, too, and then had to suppress a physical reaction. (Made me want to go give Twix a hug, but she was napping.)
I think I'll start boycotting the Olympics starting now!
That's just a tiny part of what's going on. People are being evicted from their homes without adequate compensation. Dissidents are being snatched off the streets and threatened. There's a lot of rhetoric about human rights, but no action. The Olympics is normally a nation-changing event. But, I don't think any changes will take place in China.
You need to help get this story out.
Catch 22. We broadcast only in countries that are as thuggish as China. And there are plenty of them. People in those countries either wouldn't care or wouldn't be able to speak out. There are countries where people can be thrown in prison or executed just for listening to us. But I've seen the story around the Internet.
