This is our all-time favorite song. In our Opinion, Nat King Cole is the clear winner here. I don't know how you compare a vocal to an instrumental, so Glenn Miller is out of the running, Altho his may be the best musical rendition. We like the Sinatra cut enuff that we have that video on our My Space page. As far as Louis goes, he butchers it badly.
When we first heard the Willie Nelson version, we hated it. But after a few years of listening to it, we have mellowed and now it's on our short list of favorites, both for the instrumental and vocal values--He's Genius...
I like Louie Armstrong. Although I like "St James Infirmary" better.
I like Nat King Cole's "Mona Lisa" and some others that don't immediately spring to mind. (I have a problem with my memory)I like most of what Sinatra sang, but I'm not real big into instrumentals.
I get tired of Willie Nelson. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting something Willie Nelson has covered. I do like his rendition of "Over The Rainbow" though.

I first heard it from Glenn Miller. I was a big band fan when I was a kid. I didn't even know it was a vocal until I heard it from Nat King Cole.
