Crush Rush

When conservatives want to be outraged at liberals, all they have to do is point to something -- anything -- that liberals have done. When liberals want to be outraged at conservatives, they have to manufacture something. Such was the case with Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh over the past few weeks. It started with O'Reilly. Seems he went to dinner with Al Sharpton at a restaurant in Harlem. He mentioned on his radio show that the black patrons were just normal families and he didn't hear any of the gross profanity that is heard in gangsta rap. If there's one thing at which liberals excel, it's pretending to be stupid. Although it was clear that O'Reilly was condemning rappers, who do not in any way represent the black community, moveon.org took his remarks totally out of context and accused O'Reilly of being racist for EXPECTING blacks in a restaurant to use extreme profanity. Then, CNN and MSNBC ran with the story. That was a mistake. O'Reilly has several times the audience of both those outfits combined and promptly disemboweled them. CNN's ratings have plunged. MSNBC has to first have ratings before they can plunge. I think the real scandal here is that O'Reilly was having dinner with a hustler like Al Sharpton. Then, it was Rush Limbaugh's turn. He made a remark about phony soldiers -- soldiers who have lied about their service record -- who become the darlings of the left by also lying about conditions in Iraq. This time, it was mediamatters.com who instantly became stupid and misinterpreted his remarks to mean Rush had called ALL soldiers who are against the war phony soldiers. But it didn't stop there. Liberals hate Rush more than Muslims hate Jews. The Democrat Senate -- which apparently has solved all the country's problems -- censured Rush. That's a laugh. Harry Reid, who declared the war lost while we still had troops in the field, and Tom Harkin, who lied about his own service record in Vietnam, were condemning Rush for something he didn't say. Of course, this was all intended to be a distraction from moveon's Petreaus Betray Us ad in the NYT. These fanatics have people recording and listening to conservative talk radio 24/7 and they jump on anything that they can twist and spin. But that's not the dangerous part. Since when does the Senate censure a private citizen for SPEAKING? That is against everything this country stands for. I have to wonder how far the Democrats would go if they were given completely free reign. What kind of person hates -- actually emotionally HATES someone simply because they have opposing beliefs? Those people can be found all over the world. They are the people who build the gulags, the re-education through labor camps, and the political prisons. The Democrats are taking the first step in that direction by trying to pass the Fairness Doctrine, which will destroy conservative programming and silence the opposition. Democrats are constantly prattling on about this country becoming fascist. But they don't acknowledge that fascist governments are invariably left-wing.
