We know that Norma McCorvey i.e. Jane Roe) now regrets allowing two ACLU lawyers to buffalo her into becoming the test case for abortion (Roe v Wade). Now, there is another leading abortion proponent who regrets what abortion has become. I wish the American media were intellectually honest enough to carry articles like
this.
Lord Steel, architect of the 1967 Abortion Act, says today that abortion is being used as a form of contraception in Britain and admits he never anticipated "anything like" the current number of terminations when leading the campaign for reform. The Liberal Democrat peer, whose bill legalising abortion in certain circumstances marks its 40th anniversary on Saturday, says an "irresponsible" mood has emerged in which women feel they can turn to abortion "if things go wrong"."Everybody can agree that there are too many abortions," he says in an interview in today's Guardian, calling for better sex education and access to contraceptive advice and a debate over sexual morality to help bring the numbers down.
Our media also ignores the plight of tens of thousands of women who have been
devastated by abortion and have joined
support groups to help them get on with life.
On the 40th anniversary of the Abortion Act, the debate as to how late a woman can leave it before she terminates her pregnancy has been reignited. Yesterday in the Mail, Amanda Platell argued that the current 24-week limit should be cut. But what do women who have had abortions think? Here, seven of them give their views . . .

What stuck me about the article is that even for the women whose stories are labeled "no regrets," the regrets are palpable. How about the woman who promises that she and her boyfriend will have another baby someday? Another baby. Sad.
Also note that in Britain, according to the article, the woman must see the sonogram of the baby before aborting him or her (I almost typed "it." Shame on me.). I wonder how many British children are alive today only because their mothers' first sight of them was as a kicking, squirming sonogram image? I wonder how many Amercan children are now dead for the opposite reason?
I noticed that too. They should be required to look at the new sonograms
They should also be informed of the increased risk of breast cancer linked to abortions.
