Update

I've been sick for awhile now. I missed two days of work. But, I'm feeling better and will start blogging soon. I stopped by PetSmart Monday to see if anyone had adopted Chito. He was stretched out in his cage like a golden mountain lion. Luckily, he didn't see me and I made a hasty retreat. I just checked again and he's gone. So, any thoughts of taking him back (and I've had plenty of them) are moot now. I hope he went to a good home. Wait'll they get a whiff of him. I haven't even thought of the litter box for nearly a week now. Chito did one more thing before I brought him in last week. I had changed the litter cartridge and had the old box setting by the door waiting to be taken out. I was on the computer when I heard a scratching. Chito had taken the top off the box and made one last deposit. He was a reverse-Houdini. He could break into anything. Well, Ginger is staring at me. She wants to take her afternoon nap. Since' I've been up since 4 a.m., I guess I'll oblige her.

Well it sounds like it was a happy ending...you took care of him unitl the right one came along.

Maybe he would be happier if he were the only cat in the house and that couldn't happen with you and your girls and maybe now it can.

What is the name of that great litter box you were talking about a while back?

My friend is looking for one and I remember you said you had the best!

I'm glad you're feeling better.

No doubt Chito went to a good home. The people that frequent the pet stores are people that like animals. I'm sure he schmoozed his way into a kindly heart.

Why is it that Ginger has to stare at you to take her nap? You two have a ritual afternoon nap routine? :)

Well, four days a week, I'm normally sleeping days, and she sleeps right next to me. And on the other three days, I usually take a nap because I'm messed up from the time change. Ditto on the nap. She figures she shouldn't be sleeping unless I am.

Sorry to hear you've been under the weather. Drink hot green tea and triple your daily Vitamin C intake, and think pure thoughts. Smell a dog's ear, very soothing. Won't work with cats, they will suck your breath out while sleeping on your chest. Beware!

I made some chicken soup with Chinese meatballs last night. There's nothing like the healing power of pork. That, and sleeping till noon seems to have done the trick.

We have three cats and one dog. One of our cats, Oliver, is a not-quite two year old male with an adventurous spirit. Yesterday, my wife took our dog for her usual morning walk, and, as sometimes happens, Oliver decided to accompany them.
Their path took them past the house of neighbors who, the day before, evidently, had put up a child's outdoor gym, complete with a slide.
As soon as Oliver saw it, he ran to the slide's steps, climbed up, slid down the slide, and trotted back to my wife and dog. As if it were just the expected thing to do!

I don't understand people who don't like cats.

Cats were brought here by the Aliens who taught the Desert people how to build pyramids, Jim. Those of us Earthlings from the cold north of Europe who trace no lineage to the Aliens prefer our sled wolf-dogs. We perceive the evil that lurks in the Alien animals. They are the familiars of witches. We can see the trickiness in their eyes, can't you?. They are here to WATCH us.

Your anecdote proves my point.

I thought snakes were brought here by aliens. That's why so many people are repulsed by them.

Man, I dread the day aliens land. If we can't even stand the French, how are we going to fare with aliens?
