Happy Anniversary to Me

Today is the one-month anniversary of my new blog, The Truth from Iraq. The purpose of the blog is to print news that is being withheld by the mainstream media. That is proving to be quite a task, because in one month, I've posted 231 stories -- all of them good news. That's an average of 10 a day. It's pretty obvious by now that our media is corrupt. Not only do they slant the news they give, but they commit lies of omission. I've always said that 90% of the power of the press is in what they choose NOT to print. This proves my contention.

Erudite Redneck would have a coronary if he read this.

I don't know how you put up with some of the people on your site, Mark. They argue just for the sake of arguing. And they are none to polite about it. I don't have that kind of tolerance.

I suppose it's because they let me say stupid things on their blogs so I feel like I owe it to them to allow them to do the same.

Besides, many of them are professional writers and newspaper people (like ER. he is the editor of a major midwest newspaper). I consider it a compliment that my humble blog is considered worthy of argument by people of that status.

In fact, I am continually amazed that you, who I respect immensely, visit and comment on my humble blog on occasion. In your case, I am somewhat star struck.

I feel much like Chance the gardner, in the film "Being There". Totally out of my element but just going along for the ride, until my incompetemce is at last discovered by the world.

I guess I'm just not impressed by peoples' positions. A newspaper editor can be just as uninformed and wrong as a burger slinger. The NYT proves it all the time. But stupidity is OK with me. I draw the line at belligerence, disrespect and hostility.
