We're Safe!

Looking out the window, I see the little light at the top of the Capitol dome is out, meaning Congress is in recess. We are safe until September. People on the liberal blogs are having hissy fits because the Democrats gave the government expanded surveillance powers. Under the new law, without a warrant, the government can tap suspicious foreign communications that pass through the United States. Sounds logical to me, but the liberals are enraged that they were "betrayed" like that. How DARE the government want to protect us from terrorist attacks! Playing devil's advocate, after all their tough talk during the campaign, the Democrats should have stayed in session until they won. But, they apparently revere their vacation time over their principles -- whatever those are.
