Richy Rich (i.e. John Edwards) has a solution to terrorism. He wants to establish a 10,000-member peace corps and send them off to unstable countries that are plagued by terrorists. There are SO many things wrong with this plan, I don't even know where to start.
The plan Mr. Edwards presented yesterday — which he dubbed "A Strategy to Shut Down Terrorists and Stop Terrorism Before It Starts" — calls for a 10,000-person "Marshall Corps" to deal with issues ranging from worldwide poverty and economic development to clean drinking water and micro-lending. He said investing in those areas would shore up weak nations and help ensure that terrorism does not take root there. That, he said, would allow the country to stop potential terrorists before they even join the ranks.First of all, we already have a Peace Corps. And they go to lots of unstable places, like the Middle East, North Africa, Africa and Asia. I can't imagine what this new peace corps would do to lessen the threat of terrorism -- unless they are heavily armed covert tactical teams.
This guy is totally out of touch with the real world.

Love that picture you found.
As usual...no idea what he is talking about but it sounds nice. that's the important part...sounds nice.
Oh my. How old is Tonto? I remember that ad for Breck. Sigh.
His ideas are hardly original. I hear all those same issues which, if dealt with, would bring about world peace. Is it just me, or does 10,000 sound like a drop in the bucket?
Doesn't his 28,000 s.f. hovel have a TV? He wouldn't even have to watch often to know clean drinking water has been suggested before. You'd think his advisors would have at least told him he's just preaching the same old, same old.
I'm 34. I know the ads for Breck but it looks cool with his picture imposed on it.
Actually it is just a cool looking vintage poster in general.
Tonto, I'll be 46 next month. Born as, and once again the middle child, smack dab in between Lone Ranger and Tonto, by 12 years each direction--lol.
I have to agree that it is an amazing job of imposing his picture in the ad. :)
