Into the Danger Zone

If the Ft Dix terror plot had gone ahead, hundreds of people would have been killed and the only thing they could have done was hide helplessly. Why? Because, believe it or not, military bases are no-gun zones. The only people with loaded guns are security and people training on the firing range. So, I am more protected in Safeway, wearing my gun, than I'd be at Ft. Dix, surrounded by thousands of soldiers. I'm heading to Andrews AFB this afternoon for a medical appointment, and I'll have to leave my weapon at home because I can't take it into the state of Maryland or onto federal property. I hope the all-seeing clerks at Circuit City are looking out for me, because the FBI isn't. When will our officials realize that we are at war and that the citizens are the first line of defense? As usual, not until it's too late.
