Tokyo Rosie Nervous

Rosie O'Donnell has been grabbing attention by parroting the most irrational, irresponsible elements on the far left. Among other things, she is saying that 9/11 was a government conspiracy and that WE blew up the towers with controlled explosives. Her latest outrageous comment is that the British sailors deliberately entered Iranian waters to provide an excuse to invade Iran. There has been a rising drumbeat for Disney/ABC to get rid of her. She has the right to be as stupid as she wants to be, but she does not have the right to misinform the American public with these insane conspiracy theories. She must be getting nervous at the reaction, because she just posted this on her blog.

9/11 affected me deeply, as I know it did many Americans. The falling of the twin towers served to remind me that many of the assumptions Americans have about their lives are rooted in false feelings of security. In light of this reminder, I have begun doing exactly what this country, at its best, allows for me to do: inquire. Investigate. America is great in so many ways, one of which is the freedom to speak, and indeed think, freely. I have, of late, begun exercising the rights bestowed upon me by the democratic system I value, and the exercising of these rights has taken the form of an inquiry into what happened five years ago, an inquiry that resists the dominant explanations and that dares to entertain ideas that push me to the edge of what is bearable. I have come to no conclusions and, given the scope of the subject, will not for some time.

If the very act of asking is so destabilizing for people, than (then, not than) I have to wonder whether the fabric of our democracy is indeed so raveled it is beyond salvage. My own belief is that the act of asking is itself reparative, because it brings to life the values on which our constitution rests. I am, therefore, pledging my allegiance, hand over heart, trying, as always, for a rigorous truth.

She is doing what all liberals do when their anti-American remarks are questioned -- wrapping herself in the flag, hand on heart, the super patriot, who is only asking questions, searching for a rigorous truth. Pffft. Rosie is a hater. This isn't about 9/11 or the British or the War on Terror, this is about a left-wing nut who hates George Bush and wants to bring him down. She displays the worst trait of most liberals -- she considers herself superior to people who are her better in every measurable way. Give a liberal a forum and suddenly he is the smartest person in the world. No matter how uneducated, inexperienced, irrational, ill-equipped a liberal might be, he knows better than the President, the Secretary of State, the Pope -- just name it. He has all the answers. Bill O'Reilly has been tackling Tokyo Rosie's idiotic remarks and for his efforts, she has called him an "imbecile." Well, that was easy. Why bother to present evidence or use logic and common sense when all you have to do is call someone a name? Let me call her a name -- she's a spoiled child. In fact, as far as I've seen, all the far leftists are spoiled children, who will never grow up. Conservatives think, liberals feel.

Rosie is a trainwreck. I wasted over an hour Saturday night watching YouTube-- specifically "Rosie rants". She is out of control and I am amazed by anyone that can take her screeching seriously.

Her contract is up in June. Just a prediction, but I believe June will be her last month on ABC.

I used to ejoy her when she was just a comedian and no one knew she was a lesbian. She was funny. Of course, she has free speech, and so, can say any innane thing she wants, but I do wish she'd just shut up and do comedy.

Rosie spews the same drivel as Ann Coulter: only fatter and from the different direction. I waste my time on neither....

Picking up from her misuse of 'than:'

I have to wonder if this woman's nutty ideas are the result of a poor education.
Anyway, I must go ravel some fabric.

You've made a statement, Idaho. Now, all you have to do is defend it. Show me one Coulter quote that is as outrageous as one of Tokyo Rosie's remarks.

LR,
Let me reiterate that I follow neither of these 'celebrities'. I tuned out Ann when she accused decorated VN vet Max Cleland of
deliberately losing two legs and an arm to get out of the war; accused the 911 widows of enjoying their husbands deaths and for whatever reason, termed John Edwards a faggot. To the best of my knowledge these are untruths. Perhaps if you google 'Ann Coulter lies', you can read through the 1,210,000 listings. There is no reason to 'have to defend' my opinion...I defended yours as an Army officer many years back.
Never will I accuse anyone who disagrees with me a traitor, as seems to be the vernacular these days. Now all you have to do is explain why I should be interested in the opinion of either of these
motor-mouth 'ladies'.

Rats. I hate making long comments.

Who you choose to read or listen to is entirely your business. But it is unfair to lump in Ann Coulter with Rosie O'Donnell. They are in no way alike.

Rosie is a hater. And she actually believes what she says. She actually believes 911 was a government plot. She actually believes Iran was manipulated into taking British hostages so we could wage war on them. She calls Bush stupid, but then accuses him of things that could be pulled off only by an evil genius. She's irrational.

Ann Coulter says outrageous things only to express her contempt for villains. She says things in jest. It might not be the sort of jesting you like, but she doesn't lie or hate. I very much doubt whether she considers Cleland or Edwards worthy of hating. They're no more important to her than bugs on a windshield.

I've never seen her say that Cleland lost his limbs to get out of Vietnam. Cleland is decorated. He has the silver star. But he doesn't have a purple heart, because he didn't lose his limbs in battle. Doesn't stop him from allowing Democrats to hail him as a hero for a stupid accident. She called the grenade incident, "an accident during a routine non-combat mission where he was about to drink beer with friends." That is absolutely correct. And for allowing democrats to portray it as anything but an accident, Cleland deserves derision.

As for the so-called Jersey Girls, these women are exploiting the death of their husbands to enter the political arena. And they consider themselves untouchable because they're victims. Well, if you are going to play with the big boys, you should expect to get a bit bloody. Democrats do this all the time. They exploit victimhood to push their agenda and then feign horror when anyone challenges them. Once again, they are worthy of contempt.

She did NOT call Edwards a fag. Her joke had nothing to do with Edwards. She could just as easily have inserted any number of names in the blank. She was commenting on the trend of celebrities acting out and then going into rehab until the dust settles. Rehab is the liberal confessional, the difference being they don't ask for forgiveness and don't feel remorse after the experience. But what better choice to mock than a metrosexual who earned a vast fortune by filing lawsuits against the medical profession. Edwards and his ilk are the reason medical care has become unaffordable. And then he has the gall to turn around and say he has the solution to the health care crisis. Once again, contemptible. A villain.

Another difference between the two is the way the media covers them. They crucify Ann while giving Rosie a pass. One thing liberals do well is being deliberately obtuse when they listen to Ann's remarks. These people aren't stupid, but they certainly appear to be when it comes to understanding Ann's remarks. Howard Dean can say, "I hate Republicans and everything they stand for," and then turn right around and weep like a hired funeral wailer when Ann says something biting. They don't have that problem with Rosie, since first of all, it's impossible to misinterpret what she says and secondly, they are totally ignoring her.

Oh, and I spent 24 years in the Air Force and didn't need to be defended by Army officers. I defended a lot of them.

Now my coffee is cold.
