Enough with Guns, Already
This will be my last gun post -- I promise -- unless something unusual happens.
I went to another restaurant last night. This one caters to yuppies, but there were still three guys eating with their hat on. One guy around 40 was wearing his cap sideways -- like a three-year-old. Another was wearing a ski cap -- backwards. Anyway, no reaction to my gun.
This morning I went into a PetSmart to get some fish. This store had a huge sign banning weapons when it first opened a few years ago. Then the sign disappeared. I'm thinking some gun owner challenged them with a lawsuit or something. Anyway, no reaction. Maybe they think I'm a cop. I dress too well.
I'm also working on my attitude. I think too much about the gun. A gun should be no more important than a wristwatch or a wallet. Until I manage that, I won't be a fully responsible gun owner.
But I'm sick of eating out. I don't do it that often. Oh, one thing happened at the restaurant last night. I just remembered the name -- Hops. They brew their own beer (which I don't drink). As I was eating, a woman walked in clad in pink, including a pink feather boa and pink feathers woven into her hair. She was about my age and had an incredible smile. But then I saw she was eating alone and despite her smile, she looked lonely. So, as I was leaving, I called her waitress over and paid for her meal too. I told her waitress to tell her that it was from someone who liked her smile. I don't know what her reaction was, because I left right away. The Lone Ranger doesn't date and she was probably a liberal anyway.
Off to bed. Work tonight.

I am waiting for the time you can't find your money clip or your debit card and you empty all your pockets and you end up swinging your gun down on the counter along with your spearmint gum and the lady behind you says, "Oh My what have we have here."
I know you made that lady's day. Interesting way to "non-date"...buy a lady dinner but never have to meet her.
what is the site I can go to to see what states let you carry a gun in public?
Or, maybe you are so intimidating that no one wants to say anything about your gun. ;)
Nice of you to treat the pink lady. Though she won't know who bought her dinner, she'll remember it for a very long time.
You're good people, Ranger.
It's always refreshing to hear of a good deed. You truly are The Lone Ranger. It would be great if she noticed that her meal was paid for by the nice man with a pistol on his hip. Libs like to paint all of us gun owners as criminals.
Funny you should ask, Tonto. There actually is such a site right here.
Although I don't limit myself to one, I try to do at least one good deed a day. Good for the digestion. But enough about me.
Tonto, I have a few links on Dakotaranger.
US Gun laws. The only ones that totally prohibit it right now are IL, WI, HI.
http://nra.org has a gun law link also
