Oh, for the days when Arizona's high school students could roll pizza dough, sweep up sticky floors in theaters or scoop ice cream without worrying about ballot initiatives affecting their earning power. That's certainly not the case under the state's new minimum-wage law that went into effect last month. Some Valley employers, especially those in the food industry, say payroll budgets have risen so much that they're cutting hours, instituting hiring freezes and laying off employees.

Who Didn't See This Coming? -- Liberals, of course
Arizona's new minimum wage has had unintended consequences -- teens are losing their jobs. Conservatives predicted this is what a minimum wage would do. Liberals want this for all of us.

When was a minimum wage job suppose to support a family of four?
If i was suppose to be able to support myself and my kid by working at "In N Out Burger" why did I bother to get school loans?
Don't say In N Out Burger. That's the only thing I miss from California. And Filipino food.
I know it is the best isn't it.
Philipino Food? You don't have a little Philipino town there in D.C.? I am shocked!
Do you get Mexican food?
There's Mexican food all over the place. There are Mexicans all over the place.
I love that everyone wants to use the "Family of Four" hogwash to support raising the door greeter's wages at Wal-Mart.
My Wife would have serious difficulty supporting a family of four on her school teacher's salary, and she has $50,000.00 in student debt.
Why can we not fix THAT problem before we start on the problems of America's part-time teen-aged Burger-Flippers and the Dreggs of Society who refuse to invest anything in themselves?
Wait... Never mind. I know the answer to that question already.
When people invest in themselves, and become successful on their own, they vote Republican.
Oh, and In-N-Out Burger IS great.
I used to walk a half a mile from the nearest truck parking to eat there when I ran over-the-road.
The closest thing we have in Florida is What-A-Burger, which is admittedly a poor substitute.
But we can get Gator Tail anywhere...
OK just so you know...this whole comment thread made me laugh out loud!!
Tugboat and LR you are a hoot!
