This Day in Republican History 3/06/08

March 6, 1857 Republican Supreme Court Justice John McLean issues strenuous dissent from decision by 7 Democrats in infamous Dred Scott case that African-Americans had no rights “which any white man was bound to respect” The Dred Scott case is undoubtedly the most egregious example of what happens when the Supreme Court is dominated by Democrats. Our country will forever be painted by the broad brush of bigotry because of this decision, made 150 years ago.
