Russian Bears Riding Bicycles

It seems that Karl Marx is alive and living in Seattle. "Teachers" at a private school there have banned the use of Legos because they wanted their students to learn that private property ownership is evil.
The children were allegedly incorporating into Legotown "their assumptions about ownership and the social power it conveys." These assumptions "mirrored those of a class-based, capitalist society -- a society that we teachers believe to be unjust and oppressive."
Once again, these lefties prove they are totally out of touch with reality. The debate on Communism is over. You don't have to read Das Kapital to understand the idiocy of Marxism and collective ownership. Just look at pictures of bread lines in the former Soviet Union. Or look at photos of Soviet apartment complexes, where the communal hallways and toilets were filthy because no one owned them. You can see the same thing in the massive public housing projects that were constructed under LBJ's War on Poverty. Every time one of those buildings is imploded, it is proof of the failure of socialism. Then there are the gulags, the forced labor, the banning of all capitalist activity, the starvation, and the use of walls, barbed wire, armed guards, and vicious dogs to keep people from escaping to countries with property rights. Socialism, thy name is North Korea. Yet, these idiots who control our schools just don't get it. They never will.

I never cease to be totally amazed at people who "think" like this. I used to believe they were either incredibly ignorant or stunningly evil. But I'n not sure anymore that either of those conditions adequately describes the depth of their depradation. I'm slowly coming to the realization that it must be some sort of insideous non-genetic psychological disease at work-- some sort of brain-rot...

In your previous post, you said, "If you have to sell pencils on a street corner, keep your kids out of public school." And I would agree based on that post, but this was a private school!

No child is safe these days, it would appear.

As you said, that was my previous post. The rule with private school is just use a shred of common sense.

It really is scary when you think about it. Who can blame those who in the free enterprise system for believing that part of the plan of the radical left is to take over the nation's educational system?
