It's Working!

If a media outlet tells you the surge in Iraq isn't working, you're being lied to. If a politician tells you the surge isn't working, you're being lied to. I was assigned to the Middle East desk last night. I hate that desk. It's just one bombing, shooting, beheading, etc. after another. By the end of my shift, the religion of peace has me so depressed, I can barely walk to my car. Well, last night I sat for five hours twiddling my thumbs. I remarked to my editor that my assignment to the desk must have had some calming effect on the region. He told me to wait, about 2:30 am all hell tends to break loose. And sure enough, at 2:30 on the dot, a bulletin came across about a car bombing in Baghdad's book market. As usual with those stories, I updated it as the death toll rose. Eight dead, then 16, then 26. But that was the ONLY Iraqi story I wrote last night! I am dead certain that it wasn't my calming effect that resulted in the night being so quiet but in the calming effect of American soldiers walking through Baghdad neighborhoods with deadly weapons and the training to use them. I've said before that for all their sword waving and ululating and threats, Muslims are pathetic warriors. That's why they attack "soft" targets. Nothing softer than a little baby. And those attacks have declined drastically since the surge began. And not all of our troops are even in place yet. Beware the lies.

Good to know that and thanks for the news... The past few weeks have been quite disheartening for me.

I can also report that our military is building their stock on big things that go "KABOOM!".
