Anna Who?

I woke up from a nap Thursday to hear Anna Nicole Smith had died -- under pretty much the same circumstances that her son had. What a wasted life. Marilyn Monroe died nearly 45 years ago and she is still a legend. Nobody will remember Anna Nocole Smith 45 years from now. She did nothing. She left behind no enduring body of work. She did not leave the world a better place than when she entered it. Nothing. She was one of those people who was famous for being famous, and in today's increasingly corrupt climate, she did not survive the experience.

I could go on and on about celebrities, the loss of their talent, blah, blah, blah, but are any of them worth it? These aren't my Daddy's celebs.

While it is a sad waste of a life my sympathies to her family. It is a tradgy when a person doesn't live out their days to their potiential.

HOWEVER, I'm getting sick of how the media covers drivil. From that crazy astronaut, which isn't really that unique to celebs life and ignoring what really is important or steering it to some twisted perspective that doesn't resemble the truth.

I barely can watch the news, including Oreily, for this reason. I guess the Bible is right there is nothing new under the sun. We have the same cult of personality that the ancient Greeks had...at least their cults were supposedly deities.

Her enduring "body" of work was a center-fold in Playboy. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

For future posting, save this entry and all you will have to do is substitute the name "Anna" and insert "Paris". Everything else would still apply.

Now they're saying that Chris Farley died like exactly like his idol, John Belushi and Anna Nicole died exactly like her idol, Marilyn Monroe. Not so. There were no Kennedys involved this time.

To Paris, I would also add Lindsey and Britney. I guess there are more, but I don't know about them. I'd suggest these young women were raised by wolves, but wolves have a much more structured society.

Imagine Shirley Temple growing up to be an out of control druggie. She would have been shunned, not feted by the media.
