Picky, Picky, Picky

Well, I hit the first speed bump on my big move. The Salvation Army showed up today and wasn't interested in ANY of the stuff I had. I had NO idea the Salvation Army catered to the upper class. Seems the entertainment center had a little water stain on the top from a plant. I don't know what they thought was wrong with the couch. Despite being told on the phone that they take aquariums, they don't and yada, yada, yada. Long story long, I had to call a junk company that charged me nearly $400 to haul it all away. Ginger can't believe how much room there is. She's rolling around on the floor like a kitten. I don't think I'll get another couch. Since nobody ever visits me, a recliner and a rocking chair should be enough. I should have also gotten rid of my coffee table -- the one made out of a ship's hatch, but I'm attached to it. Now, to rid myself of other possessions that I haven't touched in at least two years. I have I have four bookcases full of books. I think I'll take everything but the nonfiction down to our exchange library. When I emptied my fish tank this morning, I discovered I had only five fish. They are swimming around in a desktop aquarium. They'll have to get used to the cramped quarters until I set up my new one after the move -- after I buy one. I guess I'll make a perfectly-prepared, medium-rare New York strip steak and turn in right after O'Reilly. Been up since 3 am. Gotta drive to Andrews AFB in the morning to pick up some prescriptions. I didn't watch the State of the Union address. All I have to say about it is never shake hands with a Democrat after one of Bush's speeches. No telling what they picked up while they were sitting on them.

I'm going to remember this the next time I'm expected to toss coins into one of those red buckets.

Goodwill is like that too...stuff too expensive on some things.

Don't worry I will always love the SA. I mean they were the part of one the greatest musicals ever...GUYS AND DOLLS!
