Is this Normal?

I have a question? Is it normal for your liberal friends to go "Republican" around this age? Strange phenomena because every time I get to together with friends I have had since college...their very bitter, conservative side comes across. I have had 4 friends tell me recently who do not know each other that they think they turned 35 years old and woke up a "Republican." Two of these people even went to Berkeley. I thought it was maybe because two were having kids but actually my gay male friend says he now likes Republican economics. What's the deal? Wonder how people so defined by liberal ideas at one point now see themselves so differently? The only thing these friends of mine have in common is their age, very hard workers, ambitious and intelligent...Did I just answer my own question?

A quotation possibly falsely attributed to Winston Churchill says, "If you're not liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not conservative when you're 35, you have no brain."

Liberals lie to us, they lie to each other, they lie to themselves, and they believe their own lies. If you can't tolerate liars, you can't possibly be a liberal. Some people just wake up one day and see the lies, and become conservatives, just as some people wake up one day and see the truth -- and become Christians.

I fall under both those categories.

I should hope so, but personally, I passed Republican about 5 years ago and hit Federalist.
