Gas Prices Slide, Who Cares?

Gas prices have slid about 14 cents in the past few weeks. Apparently the Associated Press thinks sliding gas prices are no big deal. They certainly thought it was a big deal when prices were going up. Where was the lengthy explanation of what contributes to the price of gas then?

NEW YORK (AP) -- The headlines say oil prices have fallen 15 percent this year. Gas station receipts tell a different story _ the cost of filling 'er up has slipped from about $35 to $33. Big deal.

The cost will probably drop further, but drivers shouldn't hope for a big windfall at the pump: there's a lot more that goes into gasoline prices than the current cost of crude oil.

I seem to recall Democrats saying that gasoline prices were only dropping because the Republicans are controlling them and they want to con their way into votes for the election. Now, the elections over, and the Dems have won, but the prices are still falling.

Hmmm, must be another reason.

Maybe the reason the press is staying quiet so far is they are still trying to find a way to credit the Dems with the drop in oil prices.

Until then it is better to let it remain a mystery than to let it appear the Republicans or "Big Oil" have anything to do with it.

...like any corporate tax liability being passed on to the consumer. Since the Dem's have deamed it necessary for 'big oil' to pay more taxes, look for your pump price to increase for yet another reason. Way to go Nancy and company!
