Oh, Happy Day

This is a special day for me on two counts. First, it's the beginning of my weekend. When I walk out the door at 8 am, I won't come back till Thursday at 10 pm. Since it's 28 degrees outside, I plan to go straight home, make a cup of mocha coffee and settle down in front of a crackling fireplace to watch the season premiere of The Closer. Oh, and feed the cats. Secondly, this is the 2nd anniversary of my blog. I can't believe I lasted this long, since my first two attempts at blogging ended in less than a week. I didn't even know what a blog was until I read Michelle Malkin's. I was just thunderstruck. There were conservatives on the Internet who could and did say whatever they wanted! Whatta concept! I remember that night I surfed from blog to blog all night. I am still amazed that people read this blog, much less visit it regularly. Thank you one and all for your loyalty and for giving me a hobby that doesn't involve physical activity -- or money. And thank you, Tonto, for taking on the job of my faithful sidekick and improving my blog in ways that I never could have.

It is supposed to be a special day for me as well. Today is my 55th birthday.

Lone Ranger, Your humbleness astounds me. You are my absolute favorite blogger and I am not the only blogger who reads your blog first everyday. There are many others. You are intelligent, thoughtful, logical, humorous, seriously dedicated to fairness, and you are 100% correct, in that you don't have opinions, but convictions, and what is more important, you stand by them in spite of overwhelming odds against you. Happy blogiversary!

You are one of the best, you remind me a little of Rush. When I read a blog I want serious stuff, but you add in a bit of humor and education as well. Keep up the good work!

Darn. I wrote long comment about hard it must be to write a blog of this high quality for two years, and it timed out when I tried to publish! Anyway, congrats!

I'm embarrassed, folks. Like my namesake, I like to ride off before the praises start. This is like a birthday -- except it isn't.

I never thought I could meet someone on the internet that was normal...but instead i have a real friend. Whether through the blog or off the blog I could not get along without your advice and daily wisdom.

As my grandma used to say...you're a keeper. I was on another blog before but I think I did that gig to get to you. Thanks LR.
