Harris Teeters

So, I drove to Andrews AFB this morning to pick up some (free) prescriptions and on the way back, noticed a new Harris Teeters grocery store. I've never been in one of those places before, so I pulled over. Wow, wow, wow. This place was terrific! First thing I did was head to the sandwich dept. to see if they had some sushi. They not only had sushi, it was fresh. I could tell that from the Japanese guy standing there making it. The meat dept. was amazing. It the first time I can remember seeing a crown rack of lamb all ready to pop in the oven. Same with the fish section. Brook trout, anyone? I walked around like Dorothy checking out the Land of Oz. I guess the shock and awe showed on my face because I was asked several times if I were looking for anything in particular. Everybody who worked there greeted me. I usually find that annoying, but not this time. This was better than Fresh Fields and -- no hippies! Well, a few, but they dressed better than the Fresh Fields crowd. No ironed hair, no muu muus, no pony tails on balding men. Although it's five miles from my place, I think I'll go back often -- especially since it's open 24 hours.
